A poem using no ascenders or descenders (b, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, p, t and y)
no anxiousness
in our seen semiconscious,
even as an over numerous
reconnaissance.
as we raise our consciousness
in a near cosmic canvas
we converse,
use um... excessive exercise
as a
worn worm won
a circumcision.
moreover i see raccoons as mimes
as viruses ooze over an enormous unicorn
in a universe unseen.
we murmur as women
never rise or crow in unison.
we
occur
in
music
That poor unicorn. I love the last stanza though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I enjoyed the last stanza as well.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out really sweet in spite of the constraints. Or maybe because of the constraints? I enjoy the end mostly: "we murmur as women/ never rise or crow in unison" nice!
ReplyDeleteThinking of a raccoon makes me cringe! On another note, I really like your second stanza; your metaphors are powerful...Cool poem.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of Sss-ing in this poem. It is snakelike. "Enormous unicorn" and raccoons as mimes" are awesome images!
